Smith is the seventh top 200 prospect to join the Volunteers' class. He joins four-star quarterback George MacIntyre, four-star offensive lineman Douglas Utu, four-star EDGE Mariyon Dye, four-star defensive lineman Ethan Utley, four-star EDGE Jayden Loftin, and four-star wide receiver Radarious Jackson.

Smith will be another highly skilled weapon for head coach Josh Heupel as the Volunteers attempt to remain an upper-epsilon program within the SEC.
