Tennessee Vols are 'trending' for elite 2025 recruit ahead of commitment announcement later this summer

The Tennessee Vols are "trending" for an elite 2025 four-star recruit ahead of his commitment announcement later this summer.

On3 noted on Monday that the Vols are trending for four-star defensive back Lagonza Hayward according to the On3 recruiting prediction machine.

Hayward is set to announce his commitment on July 27.

Hayward, 6-foot-1/200 lbs from Lyons, GA, is rated in 247Sports' composite rankings as the No. 11 safety in the nation and the No. 12 player in the state of Georgia.

Tennessee has been considered the leader for Hayward for most of the offseason, though there was a period during the spring where it appeared that South Carolina and some other programs stole the momentum from the Vols after successful visits.

Fortunately for Tennessee, it sounds like the Vols have regained that momentum heading into Hayward's decision later this month.

Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, and Tennessee are the top four schools for Hayward.
