Former Tennessee Vols quarterback Joe Milton isn't going to be an afterthought during New England Patriots training camp.

Milton, a sixth round selection by the Patriots in the 2024 NFL Draft, is likely battling for the No. 3 quarterback job in New England.

But even though Milton isn't expected to be the No. 1 or No. 2 quarterback on the depth chart by the end of camp (that'll likely be first round pick Drake Maye and Jacoby Brissett in a TBD order), he's still putting his best foot forward. And he's already stealing some headlines (like the one below from the Boston Globe).

Milton's had a great first week at camp, impressing fans and media with his affable personality (and back flips) as well as his impressive arm.

The former Vol hit Javon Baker for an impressive 60 yard touchdown on Friday.

Milton also drew a round of applause after executing a backflip just after throwing a dart during a drill.

From The Boston Globe : [Drake] Maye is the featured attraction at camp. He’s the No. 3 overall draft pick, the future of the franchise, and the player whose development matters the most.

But he isn’t the quarterback turning heads so far. That would be Milton, the 193rd overall pick, in the sixth round, who through four weeks of spring practice and two days of training camp has been mesmerizing.

Milton's big arm appears to delivering accurate throws so far during camp. And he's quickly becoming a fan favorite in New England.

There's obviously a long way to go for Milton -- he's yet to play in a game that matters as a pro. But you couldn't ask for a better start to camp if you're Milton. Now he just has to be consistent and he'll have a shot to quickly contribute in some form or fashion for the Patriots.
