Almost all candidates running for Knox County Commission received donations in the last part of the election cycle, from April 1 to July 22, and several had individual contributors who maxed out the limits.
The most amount of money an individual can donate to a campaign is $1,800 in the general election and $1,800 in the primary.
Here are Knox County Commission candidates' top donations, according to campaign finance records.
District 1
Charles Frazier, Republican
Frazier has not filed the campaign finance reports required for the past two periods.
Damon Rawls, Democrat
- 44 donations
- Highest donation from a group: $1,000 from Tennessee Realtors PAC
- Highest donation from an individual: $1,800 from Shirley Black
District 2
Courtney Durrett, incumbent Democrat
- Highest donation from a group: $6,000 from the Tennessee Realtors PAC
- Highest donation from an individual: $1,800 each from Janet Lawson and Phillip Lawson
Ethan Grantham, independent
Grantham did not take donations.
Debbie Phillips, Republican
- 21 donations
- Highest donation from a group: $2,000 from the Knox County Republican Party
- Highest donation from an individual: $1,800 from Justin Hirst, who lost in the GOP primary for Knox County Commission. Hirst also is running for the Tennessee House of Representatives in District 15.
District 4
Garrett Holt, Republican
- 72 donations
- Highest donation from a group: $250 from the Associated Builders and Contractors Inc. PAC
- Highest donation from an individual: $1,800 each from Ann Bailey, Steve Bailey, David Colquitt and Wes Stowers
