KNOXVILLE, Tenn. ( WATE ) — The Knoxville Police Department announced Tuesday morning that following its investigation into a home robbery that occurred early Monday morning, they were able to identify and charge a 20-year-old suspect.
Dwan Woodley , 20, has been charged with multiple felonies including aggravated robbery, aggravated assault and aggravated burglary, according to KPD, after a robbery at a home on Chester Avenue.
Records: Seymour homicide victim called 911, dispatcher heard shooting KPD said in a news release that at around 4 a.m. on Monday, July 29 officers responded to a home in the 2200 block of Chester Avenue . A 27-year-old woman reported that two masked people had broken into her home and one of them held her at gunpoint.
The suspects took a PlayStation 5 and more than $3,000 cash before leaving in a white SUV. KPD was later able to positively identify Woodley, who was known to the victim.
Woodley was located and detained by KPD officers at a home on Blue Star Drive, where the PlayStation and cash were also recovered. A gun matching the description from the robbery was also seized.
