    Knoxville flights for $100 or less round trip in August 2024: Orlando, Denver, Philly

    The end of summer is quickly approaching, but there’s still time to hop on a flight for a getaway. Direct flights from Knoxville that won’t break the bank are available in August.

    The online travel agency Hopper found eight round-trip domestic flights out of McGhee Tyson Airport for under $175 The cheapest flight in August is $90 to Philadelphia. But a summer trip to Houston or Miami might be worth the extra cost.

    Domestic round-trip airfares are expected to average $267 in August, a slight increase from the same time last year, according to Hopper economist Hayley Berg. But that's down 5% from July's average of $282.

    Where is the cheapest place to fly from Knoxville right now?

    Hopper found cheap round-trip tickets to Philadelphia, Orlando, and Denver departing from McGhee Tyson in August, with $90 being the cheapest. Flights to Chicago, Dallas and Miami are available, too, for under $200.

    These tickets are likely through the budget airlines available at McGhee Tyson including Allegiant, Avelo and Frontier. Discount airlines often have the lowest fares, but charge additional fees for carry-on bags, seat-assignments and other amenities.

    When is the best time to book flights?

    It’s suggested to book domestic flights around 28 days before departure , according to the online travel agency Expedia. Booking early could save you up to 24% compared to people who book at the last minute.

    Sunday is the cheapest day of the week to book flights and Thursday is the cheapest day to depart. Friday is the most expensive day to book, and Sunday is the most expensive day to depart.
