Former Tennessee Vols wide receiver Marquez Callaway is returning to the NFL franchise where his career started four years ago.

Callaway spent most of the offseason with the Pittsburgh Steelers after signing a reserves/futures contract last winter. Earlier this week, Pittsburgh released the former Vol, despite rumblings that he was a candidate to make the Steelers' 53-man roster.

On Thursday, the New Orleans Saints signed Callaway.

Callaway, who played at Tennessee from 2016 to 2019, spent the first three seasons of his career with the Saints after signing with the franchise as an undrafted free agent in 2020. He signed with Denver Broncos ahead of the 2023 season before getting released just before the start of the season. Callaway also spent some time with the Las Vegas Raiders last season before returning to the Saints for a brief stint.

The former Vol had the best year of his career in New Orleans in 2021, catching 46 passes for 698 yards and six touchdowns. Callaway's only caught 16 passes for 158 yards and a touchdown since that 2021 season.

Callaway will be reunited (again) with former Vols running back Alvin Kamara in New Orleans (Callaway and Kamara were teammates at Tennessee in 2016).
