The Tennessee Vols' biggest remaining recruiting target is five-star offensive lineman David Sanders Jr.

Sanders, 6-foot-6/290 lbs from Charlotte, NC, is rated by 247Sports as the No. 1 offensive tackle in the nation and the No. 2 overall player in the 2025 recruiting class.

The highly coveted recruit is set to announce his commitment on August 17. His final four schools are Nebraska, Ohio State, Tennessee, and Georgia.

It's Nebraska, Ohio State, and Tennessee that are considered the top contenders for Sanders. And with less than two weeks before his commitment announcement, it's the Vols that are believed to have the most momentum in this recruiting battle.

"His commitment date is Aug. 17 and the confidence in Knoxville is growing," noted On3's Steve Wiltfong on Tuesday . "Tennessee has been setting the pace in this race for much of the summer since David Sanders, Jr. was there for 865 Live in May. Ohio State has been a strong contender and Nebraska has worked hard to become a factor late, but the Vols continue to look like they will be tough to beat. Communication with all three schools is still consistent, but sources at the SEC program at Rocky Top feel good about their chances less than two weeks out."

Sanders visited Nebraska and Tennessee at the end of July, but Ohio State is still believed to be a factor. Though at this point, it would be hard to bet against the Vols.
