Chester benefit dinner raises money for Christmas

CHESTER, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — Volunteers in Chester ensured no one went hungry at a recent benefit dinner that raises money for the holidays.

Tacos and enchiladas were on the menu at a fiesta celebration in Chester. Although the dinner was free, donations were accepted to support local families during Christmastime.

All donations went toward Chester’s annual Santa in the Park, which ensures every child receives a gift from Santa.

“If a single mom can’t afford food, she can bring her children and eat with us, no questions asked,” Event coordinator Tina Hall said. “We don’t care if she can donate or not. We do this to help people, and that’s the best part.”

The dinner was held at the Beard and Lady Inn , where these meals are served monthly, according to Hall.
