    K9 Rommel retires from Coffeyville Police, after 10 years of service

    COFFEYVILLE, Kan. — The city of Coffeyville announce the retiring of K9 Rommel from their Police Dept.

    K9 Rommel, a Belgian Malinois, began his career on Dec 19, 2013 as a tracking and narcotics K9 with Cpt Darin Daily.

    “We announce the retirement of Police Service Dog Rommel. Rommel came from Holland when he was 13 months old and partnered with K-9 Handler Captain Daily. Rommel and Capt. Daily received their training and certification through the Kansas Highway Patrol.”

    K9 Rommel has assisted with countless drug narcotics arrests and felony apprehensions over his 10 year career.

    He will spend his retirement with Capt Daily and his family.

    The city states in a release, “We thank you Rommel for your 10 years of hard work, dedication and service. Enjoy your retirement!
