    2024-04-12

MCDONALD COUNTY, Mo. (KOAM) -- Local culinary students travel to Food Truck Friday in Carthage to learn real-world business.

The McDonald County High School students dove into the world of food by learning from food truck owners about how they run their businesses.

According to the McDonald County Schools Communication Director, the culinary students began a project within the past few weeks researching the essentials of running a food truck including menu planning and understanding the financials.

"This experience is invaluable for our students. It bridges the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application, showing them the realities of the culinary business. They're not just learning to cook; they're learning to create and manage a business," says Instructor Mrs. Strader.

Food Truck Friday is open to the public every Friday in Central Park in Carthage. For more information about Food Truck Friday, click here .
