Compass Academy Network expands to Neosho for summer 2024

NEOSHO, Mo. (KOAM) -- Compass Academy Network (CAN) announces its expansion to Neosho, Missouri for the summer of 2024.

According to CAN, the program is a way for students to be challenged over the summer with various fun activities including creative writing, mathematical reasoning, art, civics, and educational weekly field trips.

"Compass Academy Network is partnering with
schools and educators to provide an exceptional opportunity that is certain to positively impact students' lives," said CAN Regional Director, Syeda Greenlee.

CAN also has programs in Joplin, Missouri and Columbus, Kansas.

"As we enter our fifth year of the program, the outstanding outcomes in Joplin and Columbus have inspired us, and we're eager to replicate this enthusiasm and engagement for the students in Neosho. We are looking forward to building additional strong partnerships with local organizations and
businesses to support the growth and success of our students through summer enrichment," said Compass Academy Network's Founder & CEO, Debra Humphreys.

How to qualify

• Students must have a grade point average equivalent to a "B" average (3.0)

• A recommendation form a current teacher or administrator

Locations

• Joplin, MO: Thomas Jefferson Independent Day School
• Columbus, KS: Columbus Unified High School
• Neosho, MO: Neosho Junior High School

The program is free for eligible students and includes all materials, supplies, lunches, snacks, and transportation from a central location.

Reward Program

• Students who complete the program will receive a $45 Walmart gift card for school supplies
• School districts with 15 or more students who complete the summer session are eligible to receive a CAN Partner Grant of $5,000 for middle school needs.
