    Cherokee County Sheriff seeks information on wanted suspect

    GALENA, Kan. (KOAM) -- The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office is looking for information regarding a suspects whereabouts.

    According to the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office, Matthew Myers, 50, resisted arrest in the 2900 block of South Wood in Galena yesterday, Sunday afternoon and then fled into a wooded area.

    Cherokee County Sheriff's Office says Myers is wanted on outstanding warrants for Aggravated Sexual Battery and Aggravated Domestic Violence.

    The Sheriff's Office is asking anyone with information as to the suspects whereabouts to contact them at 620-429-3992 or text 888777. Type 'tip Cherokee' followed by the information you wish to provide.
