SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – It has been the trip of a lifetime for 50 Missouri State Wind Ensemble students. They have spent the past two weeks performing in venues around Italy.

Over a seven-day timespan, the performers had concerts in Miglionico, Corchiano, Sacrofano, and Triuggio.

The trip to Italy was a first for Missouri State and was years in the making. Originally scheduled for the summer of 2021, it was put on hold because of Covid.

While the time in Italy is focused on music, they have been able to explore, “The hospitality of the Italians that we have met have been amazing,” says Director of Bands Brad Snow, “The food has been amazing as well.”

The trip is a result of relationships Snow developed over the last 20 years of his career. Snow looks forward to the continued relationship, “We hope to host a week of Italian conductors and musicians on our campus in the coming years.”
