Wednesday, September 4 forecast: Loving these temperatures, but what about rain?

    By Tom Schmidt,

The cloudless skies and slight southerly shift in our winds today will lead temperatures to the mid-80s this afternoon. Humidity will still be low so today is lining up to be a nice one!

Plan for another nice morning out the door Thursday with temperatures in the low 60s. Thursday afternoon will be a touch warmer with humidity levels rising a bit. There is a slight chance for pop-up showers in Southwest Missouri and Northwest Arkansas on Thursday.

Our return to seasonal conditions is brief. A cold front will blast through the Ozarks Friday morning preparing us for a cool weekend. There is a slight risk for isolated rain along the front Friday morning, but we should be clear by the afternoon. Unlike last Friday, evening plans this Friday should go uninterrupted.

If you’re the type to sleep with your windows open at night, you’re in luck this weekend! Temperatures during the day Saturday and Sunday will be in the mid-70s with overnights coming in near 50°.

The pattern going into next week looks to warm up with low to mid-80s to start next week. Unfortunately, widespread rain doesn’t look likely anytime soon. Long-term data suggests we may not be finished with the 90s just yet and we could still sneak a few more in before the end of the month.
