1 dead, 1 in critical condition after 2 shootings at Vallejo sideshow

VALLEJO, Calif. ( KRON ) – Hundreds of sideshow spectators witnessed multiple cars recklessly spin in circles near an open fire early Saturday, according to the Vallejo Police Department.

Police said two shootings erupted out of the Saturday sideshow, with one dead and one in critical condition.

Vallejo police officers were dispatched to a sideshow near Harbor Way and Mare Island Way at 12:41 a.m. Vallejo PD told KRON4 that the sideshow contained 400 to 500 participating vehicles.

In the video above, dozens of sideshow participants are creating a ‘ring of fire,’ and multiple individuals gradually begin to stand within the circle. A dozen individuals are jumping in and out of the fire ring.

The fatal shooting happened near Lewis Brown Road and BW Williams Drive. The Solano County Sheriff’s Office responded to the sideshow and located a male victim suffering from at least one gunshot wound.

Police said aid was rendered to the victim, but he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. VPD homicide detectives have taken over the case.

Another victim is currently in critical condition after being shot once at Sonoma Boulevard and Florida Street, police said.

Police said a pursuit also broke out involving police and a car occupied by four passengers. Police arrested the driver for reckless driving, obstruction, and involvement in a sideshow.

VPD said the three passengers in the suspect car were also arrested “for involvement in a sideshow.”
