WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — A group of seniors in Wichita are honoring fallen Wichita firefighter Ty Voth , who died in the line of duty in August.

The Memory Care community at Chisholm Place crafted keychains, coasters and bracelets as a fundraiser.

“Just because they have dementia, they still have a purpose to help others, and they want to help others,” Life Engagement Director Jordyn Ridenour said. “They want to be there for them in any way they can.”

The seniors are selling the items all this month.

“Well, firefighters, there’s a, you know, police and firefighters and things like that. They put their lives on the line every time they go out,” said Lynn Heath, who was making crafts for Voth.

The proceeds from the fundraiser will go to the Wichita Firefighters Charitable Fund.
