    Bismarck Veterans Memorial Public Library invites kids to learn about Powwow

    BISMARCK, ND ( KXNET ) — The Bismarck Veterans Memorial Public Library is inviting children to its Special Story Time on Sept. 4.

    The United Tribes Technical College International Powwow is usually held the second week of September. This year, it is happening from Sept. 6 through Sept. 8. The event will feature discussions about the upcoming Powwow.

    Guest speakers will be at the event to teach kids about the traditions and cultural significance of the celebration. Stories will be told, and music will also be played to educate kids about why the upcoming powwow is important.

    The thirty-minute story time event will take place Wednesday, Sept. 4 at 10:00 a.m. in the Children’s Library Story Room. Admission is free for children elementary-age or younger, as well as their parents or guardians.
