MANDAN, ND ( KXNET ) — The Holiday Lights in Mandan are a staple of the festive season. They attract people from all over to check out the decorations.

The City of Mandan has just given residents of the city an early Christmas gift, approving a $300,000 funding request from the Mandan Progress Organization (MPO) for Phase 2 of the project.

They plan to enhance the display by upgrading the street light pole decorations along Main Street, adding a Garland Wreath Arch at the Morton Mandan Public Library, and completing LED lighting around it.

Mandan announces new Holiday Lights attraction

The initial attraction was created in 2022 thanks to a $500,000 commitment from the City of Mandan’s Visitors Fund and $100,000 in funding from the MPO.

With these upgrades, the Holiday Lights on Main is set to become an even bigger part of the city’s holiday traditions.
