    Woman hit, killed by car in Airway Heights

    SPOKANE COUNTY, Wash. - Washington State Patrol troopers are investigating a fatal crash on State Route 2 east of the Fairchild Air Force Base.

    According to WSP, a woman was walking along SR-2 near Brooks Road when she suddenly crossed the road and was hit by a westbound vehicle.

    WSP says she died at the scene. The two people in the car were uninjured and are not facing any charges.

    Troopers say "pedestrian violation" caused the crash.
