Known as Dennisaurus-Rex or “Dennis the Emu,” is a local celebrity around Southern Colorado, but is currently missing and his owner is trying to find him.
Billie-Sue Mitchell, Dennis’ owner told FOX21 News that he took off on Thursday, June 6 during a walk and she believes he is in the area of South Powers and Grinnell Boulevards near the Amazon Distribution Center.
Dennis could be tangled up in his leash and lying down in some bushes, according to Mitchell. If you see him, Mitchell said to contact the Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region (HSPPR) Animal Law Enforcement at (719) 302-8798, or the Colorado Springs Police Department’s (CSPD) non-emergency line at (719) 444-7000.
HSPPR’s Cody Costra said that Emus are a delicate bird and recommended not to try and capture him yourself. If you see Dennis, report his location to the agencies above.
