Miles Pollmann collected three hits in four at bats, but McCook MNB Seniors lost to Platte Valley Companies 12-7 on Saturday at Gering. Pollmann doubled in the fourth inning, singled in the third inning, and singled in the sixth inning. McCook MNB Seniors were the first to get on the board in the first when Boston Gable induced Pollmann to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored. Platte Valley Companies made the score 3-1 in the bottom of the first after an error scored one run, and Gable grounded out, scoring two runs. McCook MNB Seniors tied the game up in the top of the second thanks to two fielder's choices. McCook MNB Seniors tied the game at three on a fielder's choice by Bryson Gullion. In the bottom of the second, Platte Valley Companies broke up the tie when Kellen Dunn doubled, scoring one run. Then a single by Tanner Gartner followed to extend the lead to 5-3. Platte Valley Companies added to their early lead in the bottom of the third inning after Gable singled, and Colter Shellito grounded out, each scoring one run. Gable earned the win for Platte Valley Companies. The starting pitcher gave up seven hits and seven runs (four earned) over five innings, striking out five and walking three. Gabe Roberts took the loss for McCook MNB Seniors. The starting pitcher went four innings, giving up nine runs (five earned) on eight hits, striking out none and walking one. Espn Hall and Pollmann each drove in two runs for McCook MNB Seniors. Gullion collected two hits for McCook MNB Seniors in four at bats. Platte Valley Companies piled up 11 hits in the game. Gable drove the middle of the lineup, leading Platte Valley Companies with three runs batted in. They went 2-for-3 on the day. Leadoff hitter Gartner led Platte Valley Companies with three hits in four at bats. Isaiah Murillo and Barron Williams each collected multiple hits for Platte Valley Companies. Gable and Williams each stole multiple bases for Platte Valley Companies.
