    A stroke of good fortune: Las Animas' Baca, La Junta's Paolucci compete at state golf

    Two local high school boys golfers completed their competition at the Class 3A State Tournament on Monday and Tuesday at the Spring Valley Golf Club in Elizabeth. Las Animas freshman Damien Baca finished the higher of the two with a final score of 168, which tied him for 50th place. He shot an 88 on the first day but took eight strokes off of that total for an 80 on the second day. Read more

    MCC Golfers in second place after first round at OJC meet

    LA JUNTA, Colo. – The McCook Community College Golf team is in second place after the first of two rounds here at the Otero Junior College tournament. Eastern Wyoming leads the Region IX field, shooting a five-under par 275. MCC is 15 shots back shooting a 290 on the day. Northeastern Junior College is in third place, 20 shots back of the Lancers and the host Rattlers set at 302 – 22 shots off the lead. Read more

    MCC Golfers tie record score; finish in second at La Junta

    LA JUNTA, Colo. – The McCook Community College Golf Team tied an all-time, one-day team scoring record Friday but still came up short. Eastern Wyoming held off MCC to claim the Otero Junior College tournament to cap the fall portion of the year-long Region IX standings chase. The Lancers won by nine shots, 558-567. Read more
