City of Dubuque Health Department Seeking Dog Involved in Biting Incident
DUBUQUE, Iowa – The City of Dubuque Health Services Department is seeking information regarding a dog involved in a biting incident that occurred on Thursday, June, 27th, 2024, at about 08:00PM in Hilltop Park 600 Wilson Ave. Dubuque, IA 52001. The dog was running loose at the time of the incident. The dog was described as a small (approx. 20lbs), white dog. The dogs coat is long and corded. The dog was wearing a pink collar with tags at the time of the incident. The dog has been seen by the victim multiple times in Hilltop park running at large prior to this incident. The victim advised the dog is typically wearing a blue collar. After the incident the dog was last seen running towards the 700 block of Caledonia Pl.
Inspiration Stables hosts grand opening to celebrate new home
LA MOTTE, Iowa (KCRG) - On Sunday, an Eastern Iowa non profit is holding a grand opening for its new space. Inspiration Stables is an adaptive horseback riding program designed for children with special needs. Liz Grayson is the Director of Operations at Inspiration Stables. She says right now, they have six horses and some mini ponies helping more than 20 kids. “I’ve seen some, you know, amazing things. And I’ve worked in the upper levels of eventing and show jumping and things like that. And this work has been really rewarding in a much different way that just really warms, you know, your heart. It’s been more rewarding than, you know, getting a gold medal,” says Grayson.

Mathias Ham House Ice Cream Social July 4th
A local Independence Day tradition continues next week. The Mathias Ham Historic Site will host its annual Audrey Hammer Fourth of July ice cream social from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on July 4th. The event features live music by the Americana Band and picnic foods, cake and ice cream available for purchase. Activities will include Victorian-era games and craft activities. Donations will be accepted, with the proceeds benefiting the historic site.
