Abused German Shepherd Argon rehabilitates in Orange County
The abused and abandoned German Shepherd Argon, found in Malibu Canyon over the July 4 weekend with his muzzle and neck zip-tied, arrived in Orange County on Wednesday, July 10 for treatment and tenderness. Local animal rescue group German Shepherd Rescue of Orange County (GCROC) located in Newport Beach, took Argon under their wing to provide veterinary care and emotional healing. Argon is currently recovering at Saddleback Animal Hospital in Tustin, while undergoing additional testing to determine the best course of treatment.

CODE ENFORCEMENT: Seems the agent answering the phone for San Clemente Code Enforcement is not from San Clemente and is unfamiliar with areas and street names of our city. It has taken three calls and as many weeks to get action on a single code violation complaint. Is there any penalty for people who continue to place garage sale signs and advertising signs on telephone poles, etc.? Is the general public permitted to remove those illegally placed signs without penalty? Does code enforcement remove those signs without first receiving a complaint call?

Coast Guard terminates illegal charters off Southern California
(SAN PEDRO, Calif.) — The U.S. Coast Guard terminated the voyages of two illegal charter vessels near Newport Beach and San Pedro earlier this week. A Coast Guard Station Los Angeles-Long Beach small boat crew responded to a 76-foot pleasure craft operating as an illegal charter in Newport Beach with 14 passengers aboard Monday.
