The Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a single-vehicle crash that killed one, and critically injured another.

According to reports, a 911 call was received at 3:13 p.m. reporting the crash in the 200 block of CR 445.

Deputies arrived on the scene and found a vehicle had left the roadway with two occupants inside.

William C. Holman, 19, of Senatobia was pronounced dead at the scene by the Lafayette County Coroner’s Office.

The second occupant was extricated from the vehicle by the Lafayette County Fire Department and airlifted by Hospital Wing to North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo in critical condition.

“This is a tragic incident, and our hearts go out to all those affected,” said Sheriff Joey East. “We ask that everyone keep the families involved in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.”

The Sheriff’s Office said the crash is still under investigation and no other information is being released at this time, including the name of the second occupant.
