The Sparta man was driving a BMW going south on Route 15.  He veered off the right side of the road, hitting Moore, a sign and a tree, Marchan said.

According to a letter sent on Monday by Sparta School superintendent Matthew Beck to Sparta High School students, the “student is in the hospital in serious but stable condition.” Beck offered counseling to any student that wanted to go to the school that day or by contacting the school's counselors.  He also said they had “been in contact with the family” who thanked “everyone for all thoughts and prayers.”
