    The Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver room is one of the most fraught questions heading into the 2024 season. Not only are they attempting to replace high-priced legends, but they are also attempting to do so with a motley crew of receivers.

    The Chargers will likely keep between five and six receivers, which will demand the team make some very difficult decisions within the wide receiver room.

    Chargers Forced To Choose Between 2 WRs After Both Make Incredible Plays

    Two receivers, Derius Davis and Simi Fehoko used their last stage, Preseason Week 3 versus the Dallas Cowboys to make a case to make the Chargers 53-man roster . The NFL’s deadline to make those cuts is Tuesday, August 27th.

    Davis had not made much of an impression until Saturday. Against Dallas, he showed off his speed on a 70-yard jet sweep touchdown on the very first Chargers offensive play of the game. Until that, he had logged one catch for four yards.

    But Davis’ speed is undeniable and the rest of the depth chart certainly lacks that kind of high-gear pace. It isn’t a trait that Jim Harbaugh typically seeks, but in the world of the modern NFL, Davis won’t last long if he hits the waiver wire.

    After the game, Harbaugh’s comments on the long play reflected a shock and surprise, recognizing Davis’ unique ability;

    “The way he worked the sideline was incredible. The lesser man would not have scored on that play or stayed in bounds. It would have been a four, five yard gain. I was right there. My vantage point was right on top of it. I didn’t think he was going to be able to get it turned, but he did.”

    Fehoko, on the other hand, has been one of the few bright spots throughout the Chargers preseason. His 78-yard tightrope catch and run touchdown reception is just the cherry on top. He was already the team’s top receiver through two preseason weeks. He also added some chocolate sauce to his resume, by proving his worth in the run-blocking game, something Harbaugh values above just about everything in football.

    Harbaugh was less in awe of Fehoko’s play, but complimentary nonetheless;

    “I thought he made areal strong catch. Kept his feet uh andwas able to score the ball um he’s doneit he’s done a great job”
