A trio of young entrepreneurs won funding to help kickstart their fledgling businesses on Friday at the conclusion of the weeklong Kids Preneurship camp at the William Griggs Center.

The camp was ran local businesswoman and photographer, Tiffani Bray, who saw a need to help teach kids how to start a business. Bray is no stranger to working with kids, having previously run photography camps.

During the week, 25 kids learned branding and marketing skills, created logos and business cards and developed business plans.

At the end of the week, the camp host a Shark Tank style competition where three lucky winners came away with $250 checks to expand the business endeavors. While “The Sharks” were not quite as tough as their TV counterparts, they were no slouches, making sure each contestant had a solid business plan.

Three contestant came away with funding for their business: London Dailey, owner of XO London; Madyson Smith, owner of Mady’s Makeup Magic; and Emori Hollifield, owner of Grace Beauty and Beyond.

“Today was nothing short of amazing as we watched all the young entrepreneurs pitch their ideas with passion and confidence. I was so proud of every participant and I can’t wait to continue this journey to success with them all. Thanks to our amazing sponsors matching our seed funding, Kids Entrepreneur Inc. was able to award not one, but three outstanding business owners,” Bray said.

This is just the beginning and the future is bright for these talented young entrepreneurs, she said.

“We are so grateful for the LaGrange – Troup County Chamber of Commerce investment in the next generation of business owners! Many thanks to Chalton Askew for presenting the award on behalf of the Chamber’s Diversity Equity & Inclusion Council,” Bray said.
