Board approves revocable permit for Nā ʻAikāne o Maui’s Community Resource Center in Lahaina
The Board of Land and Natural Resources voted unanimously to issue an after-the-fact revocable permit to Nā ʻAikāne o Maui, Inc. (NAOMI) for its Community Resource Center, which was destroyed in the Lahaina wildfires. In its vote on Friday, June 28, the board also voted to change the rent from $40 per month to gratis (free).
EPA Completes Critical Step in Restoring Lahaina's Drinking Water
Following wildfires in Hawaii, the move gets Lahaina closer to lifting the Unsafe Water Advisory. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has completed drinking water sampling in the wildfire-affected areas of Lahaina, Hawaii. This effort aids the County of Maui in assessing when it will be safe to lift the Unsafe Water Advisory currently in place for parts of Lahaina Town.

KAHULUI, Maui (Island News) – The public is invited to attend the Maui Emergency Management Agency Disaster Preparedness Expo coming up next weekend in Kahului. Happening on Saturday, July 13, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Queen Ka’ahumanu Center in Kahului, the community is invited to the Expo that will include various speakers.
