Hardee Junior High band director Shayla Bryan recently traveled to Orlando to participate in the prestigious Florida School Music Association (FSMA) 2024 Leadership Institute. This distinguished opportunity recognizes Bryan's outstanding contributions to music education and her commitment to fostering excellence in young musicians. Saint Leo University Welcomes Students in Doctor of Theology in Applied Theology During Residency Program July 10-13
Data scientist, attorney, pulmonary physician, director of religious education, priest… Saint Leo University welcomed students from many career fields as it hosted the first two cohorts in its Doctor of Theology in Applied Theology Program. Held on campus July 10-13, this was the first residency experience for the online Doctor of Theology (ThD) degree, which launched in August 2023 with its first cohort. A second cohort began classes July 1.
TCSG Students Win 18 Trophies at Future Business Leaders of America National Leadership Conference
Fifty-seven students and 22 advisers from the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) traveled to Orlando, Florida to compete at the 2024 Future Business Leaders of America National Leadership Conference (NLC), a four-day event hosted in major cities across the United States. While the vast majority of competitors at the NLC Collegiate Conference are students in four-year universities, TCSG students won 18 trophies, with nine students claiming cash prizes for placing in the top three.

UCF Researchers Win DARPA Grant to Improve Autonomous Systems
Researchers at the University of Central Florida have received a $1.2 million grant from the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) to improve the training of autonomous systems, such as drones and self-driving cars. The grant will fund a 1.5-year project led by George Atia and Yue Wang, associate professors in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. The goal is to develop artificial intelligence-based technologies that can help these systems better adapt to unknown variables and unexpected situations.
