LAKE CITY, S.C. (WBTW) — Moore Farms Botanical Garden next week will open a new event space as field trip and rental inquiries have jumped coming out of the pandemic, officials said on Monday.

The 4,800-square-foot, open-air pavilion is situated behind its fire tower and welcome center. A ribbon cutting is set for 10 a.m. on July 24 at 1642 Pine Bay Road.

“This new pavilion will allow us the ability to accept larger and more field trips and group tours. It will be an additional offering we are thrilled to introduce,” said Roslyn Walker, the farm’s education and events director.

Moore Farms Botanical Garden was established in 2002 under the Darla Moore Foundation. It spans more than 1,000 acres that boasts public art collections, water features and research components.
