LAKE MILLS - The Lake Mills Firefly Night Market, one of the city's favored summer traditions, is officially back for the season.

The open-air market returned with its debut market on Friday afternoon, hosting a space in Commons Park for over 80 vendors including food and drink trucks, baked goods, jewelry makers, clothing boutiques, antiques, oddities, pet supplies, scented products, flowers, produce, art, ceramics and more.

Small businesses in tents, booths and trucks lined themselves up along E. Lake Street, Madison Street and Main Street, allowing easy access to pedestrians and passersby.

According to a statement from the event's host, The Vintage Flip (located at 400 N. Main Street in Lake Mills,) sunshine and temperatures in the high 70's made for perfect conditions for the market's return.

"The park is beautiful this morning. The weather is in full cooperation. Grab a friend, pack up the stroller or bring your best doggy friend for a perfect summer evening at the Lake Mills Firefly Night Market," the business said on their Facebook page Friday morning.

At night, vendors turned the park into a lovely scene for a nighttime stroll to fit the market's theme, "Garden Party."

"We have over 80 vendors who have worked diligently to create a Garden Party tonight in downtown Lake Mills. Join us for a memorable night of great people, good food, fun shopping and beautiful weather," the business posted.

The market will continue in Commons Park this summer from 4-9 p.m. on the following dates, with a theme for each event: June 7, Beach Party; July 5, Picnic in the Park; Aug. 2, Carnival Night; and Sept. 6, School Days.

Public parking lots, public restrooms and a hospitality booth will be open to the public. Updates and more information on vendors can be found online at www.thevintageflip.com or on the store's Facebook page.
