Ethan Lanthier attended Northfield High School in Northfield, Minnesota, where he played varsity baseball for three years and varsity football for two. He was named to various honorary teams in both sports but excelled more on the diamond. In his senior year, he was named 2020-2021 Northfield Men’s Athlete of the Year and earned Class AAA All-State honors for posting a 1.05 ERA in 20.0 innings on the mound with 38 strikeouts while hitting .350. After graduating, he went undrafted in the 2021 MLB Draft and attended St. Cloud State University in St. Cloud, Minnesota.

NORTHFIELD, Minn. – The St. Olaf College Athletic Department and Interim Athletic Director/Senior Woman Administrator Kelly Mahlum announced the hiring of Megan Lueck as the 10th head coach of the St. Olaf women’s basketball program on Friday. On this edition of Club + Resort Talks, Senior Editor Phil Keren speaks with Phil Anderson, General Manager of Hazeltine National Golf Club in Chaska, Minn., about the club’s preparations to host the 2024 U.S. Amateur Championship Aug. 12-18. The club is planning to donate all tournament profits to The Loop Community Experience for accessible golf. The goal of this initiative is to unite Minnesota communities by growing the game and making it more accessible to anyone who wants to play. It champions organizations that honor diversity and encourage those with disabilities, as well as veterans, juniors, women, and beginners of all ages to enjoy the game of golf. Anderson talked about The Loop at Chaska, a 9-hole golf course located a block from Hazeltine that was redesigned to make it easier for beginners and playable for those with some disabilities. Anderson talked about some of the other organizations that will benefit from next month’s U.S. Amateur Championship, as well as upcoming improvement plans at the club.
