Denny’s in Lakewood evacuated due to fire

DENVER ( KDVR ) — A Denny’s in Lakewood was evacuated after smoke was pouring out of the roof.

On Tuesday at around 6:30 a.m., West Metro Fire Rescue was called to a structure fire at a Denny’s restaurant in the 500 block of Union Boulevard.

According to crews, smoke was coming out of the roof of the building and everyone was immediately evacuated.

SkyFOX flew over the scene where several firetrucks were responding. Firefighters placed ladders to climb to the roof to find where the smoke was coming from.

West Metro Fire provided an update and said the fire was under control at around 7:30 a.m. The fire started in the kitchen and spread to te attic. No injuries were reported.

Crews will stay at the building while they continue an extensive overhaul.
