LANCASTER − Fairfield Christian Academy Outstanding Senior Caitlin Blair said she tried to be a light to her fellow students during high school.

"I try and attend as many sporting events as I can," she said. "Even track meets and cross-country meets. And I just try to really support the other students like they support me."

Besides supporting her fellow students, Blair played softball, basketball and was on the student council. She'll graduate with a 3.98 grade point average.

"I make sure to keep my school work a big focus," she said of her scholastic success. "But also, if I need help I'm not afraid to ask for it. But it also comes down to a lot of balance. I basically try to make sure I don't make school work everything because I feel like making connections with friends and making sure I have that time to be social is really important. Because in the end, after high school, I think the biggest takeaway you have is the relationships you build and the memories."

Blair will attend Southeastern University in Lakeland, Florida, in the fall to major in nursing and minor in missions ministry.

She said she will miss her high school classmates and the underclassman at FCA.

"Because I really value the connections I've made here," Blair said. "And I also have a lot of really good role models, like my teachers. So I'm really going to miss it."

She said incoming freshmen should stay true to themselves while pursuing high school success.

"Because people are going to love you for who you are," Blair said. "And overall what's important are the memories you make. So don't be afraid to step out of your comfort zone and go out there and make friends and make memories."
