Here’s what’s left inside The Mirage with closing operations underway

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — With The Mirage on the Las Vegas Strip closing its doors in less than 24 hours, some guests are eager to see what’s left inside the casino.
“Vegas is a town that changes and reinvents itself on a monthly basis,” tourist Britt Mock said.
Mock walked through the entire casino in just 20 minutes which is a big change from when he was in Las Vegas just a few months ago.
“I just walked around and I was going to play some video poker but almost all the machines were off, so I guess they paid all the progressives out,” Mock added.
With only a handful of slots and table games open, many people are trying to gamble their luck one last time.
Many restaurants and bars are also closed including The Still American restaurant and Diablo’s Mexican Cantina. Others like the Pantry breakfast restaurant are still serving hungry patrons for one last time.
While rideshare drop off and pick up is still an option, you can’t catch a taxi on Mirage property and valet is no longer in operation. The only parking available is in the Mirage parking garage.
The Mirage Hotel and Casino is best known for Siegfried and Roy’s tiger show which debuted in 1990 and lasted until 2003.
Siegfried and Roy’s Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat closed in 2022 and the animals were relocated to other sanctuaries.
It was also home to the Beatles “Love” Cirque du Soleil show which has its last performance on July 6.
It was the perfect picture moment as people were saying goodbye to the casino and each other.
Steve Claytor and Theresa McCarthy told 8 News now they tried to get a souvenir, but had no luck.
“We were hoping to get something from The Mirage one last time, but a lot of things are gone now, so now it’s just the memories of staying here 5 or 6 times and the things that we did and places that we ate,” Claytor said. “We saw two people exchanging numbers that worked together for so long and asking about where are you going to be working next and one of their friends has a job somewhere else so the Hard Rock has some big shoes to fill after the Mirage being here for 34 years.”

“I liked the openness of it, we were talking about the smell inside. It’s a unique smell. It has that musky smell that a lot of casinos have without it being overwhelming,” McCarthy said, reminiscing about what she will miss about the Las Vegas property. “The Beatles show and taking pictures of that. There’s just a lot of fun memories here. “
The Mirage staff said Tuesday night is the last night you can catch the iconic volcano show, with show times at 8 p.m., 9 p.m., 10 p.m., and 11 p.m.
That’s where Mike and Lisa Lavitol say they might be Tuesday evening as their Las Vegas trip couldn’t have come at a better time.
“I was here when the white tiger was here and that was a long time ago like 30 years,” Lisa Lavitol said.
Hotel guests also had their final stay at the Mirage Hotel this weekend.
“It’s extraordinary that one of the icons is closing down and we haven’t been here at least in 12 years to 30 years and how built up it has become with all these new icons,” Mike Lavitol told 8 News Now.
