Dr. Willie Wilson will do a grocery and gas giveaway this Saturday

Dr. Willie Wilson continues his mission to help struggling citizens in Chicago. The businessman is known for his various gas and grocery giveaways in 2022 as a former candidate for Mayor—now he's doing another one.

On December 2, for one day only, Wilson will be giving away $50 grocery coupons per person that must be used the same day (during the giveaway hours) and at participating stores around the city. He's also providing $50 in gas on a "first come, first served" basis to citizens at various gas stations until funds are exhausted.

Five thousand people will receive food coupons that can be used at all Cook County and DuPage Counties Pete's Fresh Markets that start at 10 AM. The gas giveaway will begin at 7 AM.

Wilson is also putting $25 on the books of 520 Cook County Jail detainees so they can purchase essential items like toothpaste and other necessities.

What's the motive for the upcoming giveaway? Wilson said he's committed to helping citizens survive.

"Our citizens continue to struggle with high food, gas, rent, and utility costs. I am committed to helping our citizens put food on their tables during this season. Feeding 5,000 has special significance to me. The gas and grocery giveaways are designed to relieve some of the pressure they experience. During my visit at Cook County jail, I will have an opportunity to help inspire detainees."
