Suspect arrested after weekend assault in Lawrence

LAWRENCE, Ind. – Lawrence police arrested a suspect after a weekend assault landed a person in the hospital.

According to the Lawrence Police Department, officers were dispatched around 12:40 p.m. Sunday to an apartment in the 4700 block of Kingsmead Place.

An incident report indicated someone had been hit in the head with an object and taken to an area hospital after losing consciousness.

Officers arrested a 43-year-old woman in connection with the incident. She was booked on a preliminary charge of aggravated battery, according to jail records.

Lawrence police said the incident involved a domestic dispute and added that case “does not involve serious injury.”

The investigation remains active.
