City’s residential rehab program is launched

Two in Police Custody After Being Nabbed with 14 Cases of Illegal Fireworks, Cops Say
The Arson Bomb Squad reports the arrest of two Franklin Square men for an incident that occurred on Thursday, July 4, 2024 at 6:18 PM in Franklin Square. According to detectives, Nicholas Moschonas, 33, of 516 3rd Street was observed setting off fireworks on the corner of 3rd Street and 2nd Avenue. Upon further investigation, it was determined that a 2019 Dodge RAM belonging to Peter Mari, 33, of 905 Hancock Avenue, was discovered with numerous boxes of fireworks inside the vehicle.

Ava Pacicca of Syosset, who attends the Nassau BOCES Barry Tech career and technical education high school, earned the prestigious George Farber Outstanding Student Award this year.
