Alives appeared in probable cause court Monday morning and was released on a $20,000 bond. Officials said she left her children in her car in 95-degree heat for over 30 minutes.

=Vincent Acevez was sworn in Monday, June 24, as the new police chief for the city of Webster Groves. Acevez, 55, has more than 20 years of law enforcement experience in Illinois. His law enforcement career spans more than two decades with the Cicero (Illinois) Police Department, beginning as a police officer and rising to the role of deputy chief. He worked in gang crimes and narcotics for 18 years, and became commander of the Gang Crimes Tactical Unit.
