MOBILE, Ala. ( WKRG ) — An ironworker from Alabama is accused of killing another ironworker from Mississippi while the two were working on a job in Tennessee.

News 5’s Chad Petri spoke with Aslam Wilson’s wife via Zoom on Monday morning.

“My husband was so trusting and so loving,” Latosha Wilson said. “And everybody knew he would tell you, give you the shirt off his back and help anybody.”

Aslam Wilson was an ironworker from Leakesville. His wife said he was rooming with another ironworker, Justice Clyde Morgan, while the two worked on a job in Tennessee.

Latasha Wilson said her husband and Morgan had been rooming together since May, but the friendship deteriorated, and they would go their separate ways.

“I didn’t expect to lose my husband at 41 years old through a senseless act,” Latosha Wilson said. “And to make it worse, it was our daughter’s birthday. She lost her dad on her 17th birthday.”

Latosha Wilson said she and her husband were married for nine years, and he cared for her three kids like he was their dad.

“I want my husband back,” she said. “I’m so angry and I’m so hurt. And now I have to bury my husband. And 41 years old, we were supposed to grow old together. We best spend our life together and have grandchildren together.”

Morgan is originally from Mobile County and has had several run-ins with the law. In 2022, he threatened a Saraland judge and finished serving his sentence at the end of 2023.

“And I believe if somebody would have put a stop to him and not let him continue to get out, that this would not have happened to my husband,” Latosha Wilson said.

Family members have set up a GoFundMe account to help pay for funeral expenses and travel expenses.
