PERKY LEAGUE: Joe Rauscher throws gem as Collegeville sweeps Conshohocken
PLYMOUTH — Collegeville’s Joe Rauscher didn’t get off to the best start in Game 3 of the Perkiomen Valley Twilight League quarterfinals against Conshohocken. After two strikeouts to open the game, the right-hander surrendered back-to-back hits, the second an RBI double to give the Commodores an early lead.
Woman identified in Carbon fatality
The Carbon County Coroner’s Office has identified a woman who died in a crash on Tuesday, on Route 93 in Nesquehoning. Angela De La Cruz Laureano, 46, of Hazleton, was pronounced dead on the scene at 9:28 a.m. by Deputy Coroner Jason Nicholas. The cause of death is multiple traumatic injuries resulting from a motor vehicle collision, the manner of death is being ruled accidental. Inaugural Forty Fort Cemetery run/walk set for Sept. 14
Runners, walkers, and history buffs are invited to participate in the first Forty Fort Cemetery run/walk on Saturday, Sept. 14. The Inaugural Run/Walk Through History will feature 5K and 10K runs, a 1.5-mile walk and historical walking tours of the cemetery and the Forty Fort Meeting House, led by local history experts.
Wilkes-Barre man pleads guilty to shooting
