The Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association’s summer athletic dead period, which sees the stop of any school organization practices and workouts on school property, is in full swing from June 23 through July 7.

One local business is giving back to the community in a unique way. The Loudon and Lenoir City Fitness Centers are offering an open gym to high school student athletes from 9 a.m to 2 p.m. free of charge during the dead period.
