Softball Recap: Alyssa Griffin's big game can't quite lead Lewis Central over Atlantic
Lewis Central lost against Atlantic back in June, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Lewis Central Titans fell 9-4 to the Atlantic Trojans. Lewis Central saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alyssa Griffin, who went 1-for-3 with an RBI.

Panther baseball prepare for Trojans
The Panorama Panther baseball regular season end draws near as the 9-15 Panthers prepare for the finals regular season games against the Trojans and the Timberwolves. Panorama host the Atlantic Trojans tonight but the advantage falls in the Panthers favor. Looking to gain some momentum going into the post season, the Panthers look to contain Sawyer Tarrel and Gavin McLaren who lead the Trojans in hits and RBIs.
Griswold Softball Playing Their Best Ball as they Prepare for Postseason Play
(Griswold, IA) – The Griswold Tigers (24-3) have had to go into every game on their toes as of late while facing off against teams such as #7 West Monona, #14 Treynor, and even #11 Earlham. Griswold was able to come out of that three-game series with two wins and a loss over Earlham as they were not able to catch a break in between all the state-ranked competition. The Tigers have taken advantage of these games to play their best ball at the end of the regular season.

Atlantic District Wins Boys 17 National Festival Championship
AMHERST, N.Y. – Atlantic District goaltender Ryan Cameron jumped up from his crease and turned toward his screaming teammates on the bench at the Northtown Center at Amherst. Cameron then extended his arms wide into the air and motioned with his glove hand in celebration toward the sea of players rushing onto the ice to join him in jubilation.

(KMAland) -- The Week 45 Jim Hughes Real Estate KMAland Athlete of the Week recipients are Griswold's Karly Millikan and Bedford's Tim Rogers. Millikan led the Tigers to a 5-1 week with stellar hitting and pitching. Millikan recorded seven hits in 17 at-bats last week. Those hits included two doubles and resulted in five RBI. Millikan also tossed 29 innings. She struck out 39 batters, allowed only eight earned runs and went over 700 career strikeouts.
