Abandoned dogs at Carlton property worry neighbors
Neighbors are concerned about a number of dogs roaming free at a vacant residence on Benton Road in Carlton. They say the property, a 1.7-acre lot with a mobile home, has been abandoned since June 26, when the resident, who had been evicted, was hospitalized, leaving anywhere from 2-20 dogs unattended.

ACCGov Animal Shelter Accepting all Dogs on July 23
The ACCGov Animal Shelter will begin accepting all dogs today, after dealing with a PARVO outbreak and space constraints. WUGA’s Mary Ryan Howarth has more:. Two puppies tested positive for canine parvovirus on July 8, which typically lasts 7 to 15 days. Since then, the shelter has stopped accepting owner-surrendered dogs and has kept the puppy visitor area closed to contain the highly contagious virus.

Starting in the Fall 2024 semester, the Georgia Film Academy in collaboration with the University of Georgia will host a new course at Athena Studios. Taught by Professor Phil Bergquist, “Set Construction and Scenic Painting” will train students to construct and paint sets for films.
