Lyons Awarded NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship
ATHENS – Georgia equestrian graduate Caitlin Lyons has been named a Fall 2023-24 women's recipients of the NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship. The Mead, Washington native, graduated Summa Cum Laude with a 3.96 GPA to earn a bachelor's degree in Ecology and completed a bachelor's in French this May. She is also currently enrolled in the Master of Natural Resources program. She is an equestrian representative for the UGA Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and was inducted into the Student-Athlete Leadership Academy in 2020.
The Georgia Bulldogs get a major returnee
Georgia’s baseball team – specifically its pitching staff – received good news Wednesday night when pitcher Charlie Goldstein confirmed to UGASports that he will play for the Bulldogs next year. "I will be coming back," Goldstein said in a text. Although he was a graduate athlete last year for the Bulldogs, Goldstein is eligible only after redshirting his freshman year in the Covid-shortened 2020 campaign. Goldstein was Georgia’s Friday night starter for most of the year, going 4-1 last season with a 3.72 ERA, striking out 43 batters in 36.1 innings.
