Mark Pope is about to have yet another big visitor on campus soon. According to KSR's Jacob Polacheck , 2025 top 15 forward Nate Ament will be taking an official visit to Kentucky on August 28, making Lexington his first stop among all of his official visits.

The Kentucky staff have done a really good job of making Ament one of their top priorities in the class of 2025. Having the five-star forwards first official visit is a good sign if Pope and the staff can make a lasting impression. Ament has not taken any of his official visits, but is still in the process of scheduling those for in the fall. Among those up for grabs to receive an official visit are Duke, Virginia, North Carolina, UConn, Michigan, and Tennessee, among others. He has already began scheduling his official visits, as Kentucky received the first of those.

Ament recently talked with On3's Jamie Shaw soon after receiving an offer from the Wildcats in early July about his relationship with Mark Pope and the Kentucky staff. “I’ve been talking for a while with Kentucky, they were recruiting me some while they were at BYU and I had a few conversations with Coach Fueger," he told Shaw. "Mark Pope facetimes me and all, you know, they have been recruiting me hard. I’m trying to set up an official visit with them soon. They like that I can shoot the ball, play multiple positions, and how versatile I am. We are getting to know one another. With their five out system, and being able to spread out the floor, I’ll be able to take on mismatches with my size and ability to shoot. It’s a good system. They like to recruit high character guys and guys who can shoot. They get up a lot of threes in a game, and that has kind of been their pitch to me, they know I can shoot and that I’m a high IQ player."

The staff will look to make a good first impression on his official visit before he takes the others.
