Surfer found dead in Lake Michigan near Blue Harbor, identified as 52-year-old from Wrightstown
SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (WFRV) – Authorities in Sheboygan released information regarding an incident where a surfer was found dead in Lake Michigan. According to the Sheboygan Police Department, on July 18 officers were sent to the area of Blue Harbor for an unresponsive surfer found in Lake Michigan. Authorities say that someone noticed the person in the lake.

APPLETON, Wis. (WBAY) - The global technology outage affecting airports, airlines, banks, hospitals, and other industries is being felt here in Northeast Wisconsin. The Outagamie County Sheriff’s Office says the outage is affecting Appleton International Airport, the sheriff’s office, Outagamie County circuit courts, Brewster Village, and other county departments.
Semi overturns in De Pere roundabout
DE PERE, Wis. (WBAY) - A semi overturned on De Pere’s Main Ave. on Wednesday, forcing police to close part of the busy road off of Interstate 41. Fire crews on the scene tell us the truck fell over when its load shifted as it went through the roundabout.

Warning about fires from improperly disposed rechargeable batteries
APPLETON, WI — Outagamie County authorities says there are proper ways to dispose of rechargeable batteries, though that doesn’t include tossing them into trash or recycle bins. The Appleton Fire Department and Outagamie County Recycling and Solid Waste Department are posting photos on Facebook of batteries that caught fire in a metal bin. The post says the batteries came to the recycling center from a curbside bin and ignited after being punctured or damaged. The fire was put out before spreading to nearby paper. Officials say the best bet is to bring old lithium-ion batteries separately to a recycling center or to battery stores that take them for safe disposal. GREEN BAY (WLUK/AP) -- The man who died along with his daughter while hiking in a Utah national park was the owner of Green Bay-area restaurants. According to a social media post from El Sarape, Albino Herrera was the owner and founder of the restaurants with locations in Green Bay and Ashwaubenon.
