Town making safety upgrades in Canyon Falls
There are some safety upgrades happening in Canyon Falls, the town of Flower Mound announced Sunday. Last week, crews completed installation of signage for an all-way stop at Denton Creek Boulevard and Canyon Falls Drive, the town said in a news release. Secret fireworks watching spots and other offbeat ways to spend 4th of July in North Texas
COST: $15-$20 Shhhhh … Don’t tell anyone, but one of the best places in Dallas to view the Fair Park Fourth fireworks is at the Samuell-Grand Park Amphitheatre during the intermission of Shakespeare in the Park. You read that right. The show’s intermission is timed to the Fair Park Fourth show, which is just across the highway and starts around 9-ish. Get up and stretch your legs and you’ve got a front-row view of a super fireworks show without all the traffic. The production currently playing is a modern retelling of “The Odyssey.”

Dallas County Health Officials Announce West Nile Virus in Carrollton Mosquito Samples, Ground Spraying Planned
Dallas County Health and Human Services (DCHHS) has confirmed the presence of West Nile Virus (WNV) in two mosquito samples from Carrollton. The positive samples were found in mosquito management areas 3A and 5A, with area 3A bounded by West Hebron Parkway and several major roads including the Sam Rayburn Tollway, and area 5A lying between Trinity Mills Road and North Josey Lane. In response, Carrollton Animal Services is set to conduct ground-based insecticide spraying on July 2 and 3, starting around 9 p.m., weather conditions permitting, as reported by the City of Carrollton, Texas.
